Last updated September 2026. These terms cover how projects are booked, paid for, scheduled, revised, and handed off. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you reserve.
Payment and booking
Projects under $1,000 are paid in full at booking. Projects of $1,000 or more are split: 50% due at booking and 50% at delivery. Once payment is received, your project is reserved and added to our queue. You’ll receive a confirmation email with your start date and timeline. Projects are scheduled in the order they’re booked.
Refunds
If you cancel before we begin work, meaning before the kickoff conversation, you receive a full refund minus a 15% administrative fee. Once the discovery and kickoff phase has begun, payments are non-refundable. If you pause or cancel mid-project, you forfeit the amount paid and owe the remaining balance for work completed. We’re reasonable people. If something unexpected happens, contact us directly and we’ll work out something fair.
Timeline and delays
Most one-page projects take about a week once the build begins. Larger custom websites typically take one to three weeks, assuming you provide feedback and materials on schedule. If we’re waiting on your input for more than two weeks, your timeline extends accordingly and we’ll notify you. If we miss a committed deadline due to our own work, we’ll tell you immediately and adjust the schedule.
Revisions
Website Refresh, One-Page Website, Single-Page Portfolio and Multi-Page Portfolio include one revision round. Custom Website includes two. Signature Website and Signature Portfolio include three. A revision round means one set of changes across the whole project; multiple requests in one round count as a single revision. Feedback that clarifies your original brief is not a revision, and neither are bug fixes or typo corrections. Additional revision rounds are billed at $300 per round.
Scope and changes
Your scope is locked in the project brief after the discovery and strategy phase. It documents what’s included, what isn’t, and what’s negotiable. If you want to add pages, features, or significant functionality beyond that scope, we’ll provide a change order with the additional cost and timeline impact, and review it with you before proceeding. Common examples include additional pages beyond your tier’s limit, new functionality such as ecommerce or custom integrations, major design direction changes, and significantly expanded content.
Third-party costs
Hosting, domain registration, platform subscriptions, stock imagery, premium fonts, third-party integrations and apps are paid by you, directly to the provider. Typical ongoing costs run $10 to $50 per month depending on platform and features, and we’ll give you a breakdown before you book. We guide you on setup and handle the technical implementation. You own the accounts.
Communication
You have one dedicated point of contact from strategy through launch. We respond to emails within 24 hours and keep you updated weekly during the build. In return, we ask that you respond to feedback requests within five business days where possible. Delays on your end extend the project timeline.
Project handoff
At handoff you receive a fully functional launched website, all login credentials and admin access, documentation and training appropriate to your tier, and 30 days of post-launch support for minor questions. After 30 days, ongoing support is available hourly or on retainer. We’ll discuss options during handoff.
Liability and warranties
We deliver work that’s tested, optimized, and meets the specifications in your project brief. If something doesn’t work as promised, we fix it. We’re not responsible for third-party platform changes such as Shopify updates or hosting outages, for client-provided content or assets, or for decisions made outside our recommendations.
Queue and scheduling
Projects are scheduled in the order payment is received, and your start date is confirmed in your booking email. If our current queue is full, you’re placed on a wait list and contacted with an available start date. At that point you can proceed or receive a full refund.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Changes don’t apply to projects already booked, and we’ll notify you of significant changes by email.
